Bent Grass


Description:

Vernation rolled. Sheaths not compressed, rounded on back, mostly smooth, split with overlapping margins. Collar narrow. Leaf blades flat, smooth to minutely rough above, below, and on margins, prominent veins above, gradually tapering tip. Stems erect or ascending from a spreading decumbent base.

Bermuda Grass


Description:

Vernation folded. Sheaths flattened, loose, mostly smooth, sparsely hairy, tufted hairs at throat, split with overlapping, Collar continous, narrow to medium broad, smooth, sparingly hairy. Leaf blades mostly flat stiff, sparsely hairy above, usually smooth below, margins rough, tapering from base to sharply pointed tip. Stems flattened, erect or ascending from a prostrate base, mostly scaly.

Rye Grass


Description:

Vernation rolled. Sheaths not compressed, rounded on back, smooth, lower sheaths yellowish-green to reddish at base, split with tightly overlapping. Collar broad, may be divided. Leaf Blade flat, smooth, light green, dull and prominent veined above, glossy below, gradually tapered tip. Stems round, erect to somewhat spreading. 10 to 20 flowers.
